Ala Moana Center celebrated their 4th annual premier fashion event, Shop a Le'a, with a social media contest. Snap a photo of yourself walking their pink carpet (like the red carpet, but way cuter) and post it via Instagram or Twitter. The prize is a $50 gift card. Simple, right? No way. I'm in it to win it!
For me, a "normal" photo would never do. Far too easy!When they said, "Walk the runway," I went all out. I walked it...HORIZONTALLY! Yes, folks. I laid down in a public walkway. Had a bunch of shoppers stop and stare. Some laughed, others shook their heads in disapproval, but one man kindly asked if I needed help off the floor (chivalry was scarce that day).

It took a few tries to get a decent shot, but I got it done with the help of my friend Kristin. She stood over me on a stone wall seating area in the mall, snapping away with my iPhone. We def looked like a ridiculous pair. Later, I posted the pic online and winner, winner, chicken dinner! Ala Moana selected my photo! Call me crazy, but I got $50 for five minutes of my time. Free shopping money?
